About Rachel:
One of the first things that I can remember wanting to be when I grew up was an artist. Instead, I have held a career in healthcare for many years, but have always maintained the passion for creating. Sometimes its out of necessity - if I couldn’t find the specific décor that fit my vision; sometimes for fun - sketching, painting, sewing; and sometimes for function - custom shoes, masks, wallets and wearables. Thankfully, I have wonderful people in my life that nurtured that passion and now I am creating fun, sometimes functional pieces of handcrafted art to bring a smile to you or someone that you love.
I take inspiration from the art and pop culture around us - I am an avid consumer of literature, film, and television. Through this, I create wizarding potions, film inspired hand painted shoes, and quirky art to name a few. I am always open to commissions and will work with you on creating your dream.
Every piece is created by me and crafted with love by hand in small batches.
About Shawn:
I am not a very creative person. I have a hard time visualizing something that isn’t actually there. Instead, I am a detail-oriented type of creator.
I started woodworking in 2015 when I needed a hobby to keep me busy outside of my regular work hours. I figured I’d waste some time building knick-knacks and completing small carpentry projects around the house, but I never knew I would immediately be hooked and want to spend all my time making sawdust (man glitter).
Most of my time is spent at my main employment, an IT Training company, so Eisbar Handcrafted is more of an outlet for Rachel with me supporting her creativity. I want to make more products to support her at her shows and eventually find the time for us to start collaborating on projects. And, maybe one day, I’ll be able to transition into some small custom furniture and tables.
